Fringe Movement

A collective of young innovative designers in Boston are working in a 4,400 sq ft design studio in Somerville MA, from fashion design, brand development, graphic design, letterpress printing, industrial design, architecture, photography, videography, bike framing, artist and photography studios and more!

I was quite intrigued by this wonderful hodgepodge of young people, check out some of their stuff!

Vintage Environmentalism

I thought this was a great video, almost satirical in its approach. It is quite a clever short film.  These are some of the concepts that often are ruminating in my head. It baffles me the ammount of energy that we wast without even thinking of its implications.

Mainframe’s film is a lighthearted take on the future of environmentalism, focusing on ideas about the recycling and reclamation of energy. As science strives to harness the power of nature in order to derive cleaner sources of power, the short animation highlights the idea that society already produces enormous quantities of energy merely as a by-product of everyday life.

About the artist:

Mainframe is a creative production studio, specialising in motion graphics and animation for ads, promos and branded creative content. Most of the work is for broadcast but output includes projects for cinema, online and mobile media. Mainframe comprises 20ish highly tuned creative minds in peak physical and mental condition and quite a lot of expensive kit.

GRPS Athletics

This week I had the honor of working with the Grand Rapids Public Schools Athletics department. They are unveiling a new program and are kicking it off with a coaches retreat. With the new program I designed a logo and flier for them. Time was short, so the design was pulled together in a matter of two days.

The Heart of God is in You

This week I had the opportunity to do some logo development for a retreat that our office hosted. The retreat is for kids ranging from high school to post-college. On the handout below the kids were asked to fill out an encouraging note about one of their fellow retreaters.
