Every winter came along at College with a list of classes that were interesting and filled with great learning experiences. The decisions were difficult but I knew I could never do them all. One that always caught me eye was “Winter Stream Ecology”. It seemed crazy enough for a desert native to learn about frozen rivers and the life that exudes from them. I love the challenge that this class presented to me. We automatically assume that the blustery cold winter outside can produce nothing but death. I think the class was out to prove that notion false. Even though I never was able to take the class I am a living walking life long learner where everything in front of me is a classroom waiting for me to soak up its lesson.
