An article in the Banner about riding the bus that I thought was interesting. The author is a “choice” rider as it is distinguished in Sociology. A choice rider is somebody that chooses to ride the bus because it is a better option for them. I too would consider myself a choice rider because I have other options available to me.
- During the winter I have never had to scrape a single windshield or shovel a single driveway.
- Once I am downtown I have a shorter walk to the front door than those who drive and park in the garage.
- I have met a wonderful group of middle aged ladies on the bus that love talking about politics, baking and the school system.
