Musical Markets

Not only can you find wonderful food at the market, there is music and sunshine. I have seen a number of different musitions at the Fulton Street Farmers Market here in Grand Rapids.  Check it out some time and bring a few bucks so they keep coming back.

I have been a long opponent to corn syrup, because of the health hazards it poses to consumers and the environmental impact of its production.  New York City is taking on the personal health problem head on in a new add campaign.

Taking the Long Way Home

An article in the Banner about riding the bus that I thought was interesting. The author is a “choice” rider as it is  distinguished in Sociology. A choice rider is somebody that chooses to ride the bus because it is a better option for them. I too would consider myself a choice rider because I have other options available to me.

  • During the winter I have never had to scrape a single windshield or shovel a single driveway.
  • Once I am downtown I have a shorter walk to the front door than those who drive and park in the garage.
  • I have met a wonderful group of middle aged ladies on the bus  that love talking about politics, baking and the school system.
