I thought this was an amazing photograph, 20 of the most influential countries in the world sitting at a table together.[The G-20: 19 of the world's 25 largest national economies, plus the European Union (EU). Collectively, the G-20 economies comprise 90% of global gross national product, 80% of world trade and two-thirds of the world population.1] When has this happened in our history? What countries are not included in the “G20″? I wonder what they will talk about at their next meeting.
In 2009, there are 20 members of the G-20. These include the finance ministers and central bank governors of 19 countries:
- Argentina
Australia
Brazil
Canada
China
France
Germany
India
Indonesia
Italy
Japan
Mexico
Russia
Saudi Arabia
South Africa
South Korea
Turkey
United Kingdom
United States
The 20th member is the European Union, which is represented by the rotating Council presidency and the European Central Bank.
